Randie Swanson

Hi! My name is Randie Swanson and I am SO excited to be teaching at First City Dance Studio this year! I’m 22 years old and a senior studying elementary education with an emphasis in autism education at Bemidji State University.

I've always loved to dance and have been doing so since the age of 2. I danced at Music General Dance Studio in Brainerd, MN for 16 years where I was trained in tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, lyrical, pointe, and contemporary. I've been lucky enough to train under some amazing dancers as well! For example; Mike Minery, Jen Silvas, Joe Istre, Willor Bluege, Jeremy Keaton, Ashle Dawson, and Melody Lacayanga, among others.

I've competed in 5 National dance competitions and placed within the top 3 at each one. I was the National runner-up for my tap solo at the Hall of Fame Dance Challenge Nationals in 2009.

After graduating from Brainerd High School in 2009, I moved to Madison, WI where I taught tap, jazz, ballet, and contemporary at Studio One Dance School. I then moved back to Brainerd where I taught and choreographed for Music General. This past year I continued to do some choreography for Music General, but did not teach, I realized how much I missed it and that's when I met Cathy and got this AWESOME opportunity!

I am so excited to be part of the staff this year and am really looking forward to working with everyone!

See you around the studio,
Randie Swanson
